Durham University Hatfield Lioness Scholarship for Developing Countries 2024
The Hatfield Lioness Scholarship is intended to help a female student from a developing nation with limited access to higher education pursue postgraduate studies at Durham University. The scholarship is sponsored by alumni, friends of Hatfield College, and other sources that support the scholarship’s objectives. It was introduced in 2018 as part of the celebration of Durham University’s 30 years of women students.
Hatfield College seeks to bestow the Lioness Scholarship on a person who possesses the intellectual and character attributes necessary to finish and profit from a postgraduate program, who will also serve as a good representative of their home nation in Durham and use the knowledge and skills they have gained from their master’s program and experience there to benefit their home country when they return.

Requirements
- By June 2024, applicants must have applied and received an unconditional offer of admission to their preferred master’s program.
- Candidates cannot receive funding for their postgraduate studies from any other scholarship program.
- Candidates have to identify as women or be women.
- Candidates must be citizens of one of the following developing nations:
- Possess a relevant honors degree that meets the requirements for admission to the master’s program of their choice; and Meet all other course entry requirements, such as the necessary proficiency in English.
- Not possessing a master’s degree, and not having the resources to pursue a master’s degree in the UK.

The Hatfield Lioness Scholarship application process consists of two steps. To enroll in your desired Master’s degree at Durham University, you must first apply. Secondly, by the March 31, 2024 college deadline, you must apply to Hatfield College to be eligible for a Lioness Scholarship.
Step 1: Send in an academic application and all required materials to Durham University for the master’s degree of your choice; in this application, mention that you plan to apply for the Hatfield Lioness Scholarship;
Step 2: Apply for the Hatfield College Lioness Scholarship and send an email to hatfield.trust@durham.ac.uk by March 31, 2024, along with all supporting documentation (the offer letter from Durham University, academic transcript, references, and IELTS certificate).
